Master Suite Update with Focus on Bathroom

The original master bath was cramped and poorly laid out.
The plan - new master bedroom suite
The plan reconfigures the existing space to create a master bath with spa-like features. The new bathroom gains function by taking some square footage from the existing bedroom and creating access to the larger closet with a pocket door from the bedroom instead of the bathroom.
Original space
Tiny shower and cramped space for the WC.
Original space
Home owners agreed to a smaller double vanity in order to gain a larger shower and space for a soaking tub. A good trade off!
New finishes
We began by selecting finishes including this tile mural feature for the new shower.
Shower with mural feature
The shower is more than double the original in size and showcases the natural stone tile, pie shelf for shampoo, etc. and seat below the half wall. Body jets and shower head provide a therapeutic spa experience.
Finished shower
Frameless glass door and panel over the half wall complete the spa shower experience.
Natural stone for flooring
We heated the floor in 2 zones. The second zone is under the tub only, creating the possibility for prolonged soaks in longer lasting warm water year round.
Sculptural soaking tub
Beautiful lines in volcanic limestone and resin material - naturally insulated and warm to the touch. The plumbing fixtures complement the style.
More benefits of new space plan
Removal of the wall that separated the vanity area from the bath created more usable space and storage possibilities.
Smaller double vanity
Homeowners are happy with the smaller vanity in exchange for the benefits gained: larger shower space and room for the beautiful soaking tub. Backsplash here echoes the tile mural motif of the shower.
Storage space bonus
In addition to the storage provided in the double vanity, we were able to fit linen and over-toilet cabinets in the coordinating style.
Sconce lighting
In addition to recessed lighting, we introduced sconces. Their positioning eliminates shadows on faces for ease of makeup application and shaving. Custom frameless beveled mirrors complete the remodel.
